“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31
Growing God’s people by God’s grace, for God’s glory.
Many people will ask, “What’s God’s will for my life?” 1 Thessalonians 4:3 is God’s answer. “For this is the will of God, your sanctification.” What is Sanctification? “Sanctification is the work of God’s free grace, whereby we are renewed in the whole man after the image of God, and are enabled more and more to die unto sin, and live unto righteousness.” (WSC #35) It is Christ reigning in us by having the mind of Christ in us. (Phil. 2:5) This means that God works all things together for the good of His people (Rom 8:28), whether good or bad, transforming them by the renewal of the mind. (Romans 12:2)
Not only does grace save us (Eph. 2:8) but it is also by grace that good works are prepared in advance for us to do (Eph. 2:10). We discover and receive God’s grace in the “Word of Truth” and are prepared by grace for good works because God’s truth bears fruit. (Col.1:5-6) But how do we discover and receive God’s grace? “The outward and ordinary means whereby Christ communicates to us the benefits of redemption [grace] are, his ordinances, especially the Word, sacraments, and prayer; all which are made effectual to the elect for salvation.” (WSC #89) These ordinary and outward means of grace are found in God’s local church because the Church is the “pillar and buttress of the truth.” (1Tim 3:15) Since God sanctifies His people by the truth (John 17:17), we must avail ourselves of the truth.
“The chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.” (WSC #1) The end of our sanctification is being filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Christ, to the glory and praise of God (Phil 1:11), and letting our light shine before others that they may see our good works and give glory to our Father who is in heaven. (Matt 5:16) This is also the end of our evangelism. As grace extends to more and more people, it increases thanksgiving, to the glory of God. (2Cor. 4:5) Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (1Cor. 10:31)
Grace Community Church desires to be a beautiful bride that glorifies Jesus Christ and is true to the Scriptures, true to the Great Commission and true to the Reformed Faith (or cultural mandate). We desire to be a resource in the North Pinellas/Palm Harbor area used of God to demonstrate the relevance of the Scriptures to a hurting world through church planting, evangelism, missions and care-giving.
We envision a church family that is committed to building each other up in the love and admonition of the Lord, and dedicated to improving the community in which we live.
